What’s it like living in Liberty Village? Thousands of people live, work and play in Liberty Village and we agree that it’s one of the best places in the city to do all three. Our office is located on Atlantic Avenue and we’re celebrating our fourth year here in this space, so we wanted to highlight a few of our favourite reasons for spending so much time here.
Liberty Village is one of the best places in Toronto to rent or buy a condo. Recently, we’ve seen the interest in the area surge – from both renters and buyers. Not only is it a great investment if you’re looking to get into the condo game, it’s perfect for students and young adults just beginning their careers. With direct access to the TTC and being less than a 30 min walk to the downtown core, we’re seeing so many young professionals come into the area by purchasing their first condo here.
Beers, Burgers & Balls
Where can you find us on our lunch hour or for after work drinks? Our absolute favourite watering hole with the best burger in the city (hands-down) is Local. This place is always buzzing – from the time they open until they close, it’s absolutely the best restaurant and bar to be at Liberty Village. The bartenders are super friendly (Hi Cole!!) and the food is always delicious.
Fancy a Bocce Ball match? Head out to the patio to test your skills in front of the hometown patio crowd. Hungry? Order the Diablo Burger, a side of sweet potato fries and a nice cold pint to wash it down and catch the game on one of the countless TV’s. Not seeing what you want, just ask – they’ll put anything on for you as long as it’s sports. Sorry – no Days of Our Lives during the lunch break.
Décor on Point
If you’re new to the area and just moving in, Liberty Village has plenty to make your new condo the home of your dreams. With West Elm here, decorating choices are right in your own backyard. They have so many great, affordable staples like sofas, coffee tables and lamps, and their seasonal selection can’t be beat. Trendy rose gold barware, plastic drink glasses and all of the fall and Christmas décor that your heart desires.
We also love having a Home Hardware in Liberty Village – the team there is so incredibly helpful and will direct you to the proper extension cord you need, or lightbulbs, batteries – honestly anything you think you’d need to drive to a big box store for, all within walking distance to your condo.
Coffee in Liberty Village
Balzac, a Toronto coffee staple has a great space in Liberty Village. Mornings are packed but their pours are well worth the wait. Fancy an off-site meeting or even a change of scenery from working at home? Their space is incredibly freelancer-friendly and at any point during the day you’ll find many entrepreneurs working on their latest pitch deck or holding a face-to-face meeting in their industrial chic space. Feeling under the weather? Grab a Citro-Boost and feel better in no time.
Local, Organic & Delicious
Food options are plenty in Liberty Village, but if you’re thinking of a home cooked meal, there are great options at your doorstep. Our favourite has to be the Farmer’s Market located at the Green P parking lot at the corner of Hanna Ave and Liberty Street. The market features over 20 vendors selling fresh Ontario produce and fun eats, every Sunday from 9 am until 2 pm, until November 25th. You’ll get to know the vendors and after a handful Sunday visits, you’ll get that warm fuzzy feeling when they remember you and Fido by name.
These are just a few of our favourites in Liberty – there are countless options for all tastes and budgets so if you’re looking for that true community feeling inside the fourth most populated city in North America. With a lot of pros and very little cons, you’ll absolutely love it here in Liberty Village.
